Sunday School

Where there is a Sunday School experience for everyone

Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs."

--Jesus--Matthew 19:14

All Classes meet on Sundays from 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM

The Sunday School Program at Bethlehem Church is made possible only because of the large number of talented and committed volunteers who share in the responsibility of nurturing the faith growth of our children.

Nursery and Preschool:  Nursery Care and Preschool classes are offered during the Sunday School hour.  Nursery Care is also offered during the 10:15 worship service for infants through Kindergarten.

Pre-K  ages 3-4

Primary grades K-2

Intermediate grades 3-4

Middle High Class for grades 5-8: Middlers meet in the classroom in the Youth Center. They are using "The Seasons of the Spirit" a lectionary based study developed by the United Church of Chirst in cooperation with other main-line churches.  The students are lead by experienced teachers with depth of faith and loving attitudes for this very special age of young believers.  This age group also meets regularly outside of worship for fellowship and service projects.

Senior High Class for grades 9-12:  Senior High Youth also meet in the Youth Center.  They use the UCC curriculum “Seasons of the Spirit." This is always a lively group who welcomes new ideas and people.  Senior High meet for prayer, sharing and faith exploration. This group also meets regularly for fellowship on Sunday evenings.

Adult Sunday School Classes for many Interests

New Discoveries:  A mixed age group that does in-depth Bible Studies following the Lectionary readings each Sunday. They share leadership and encourage participation by all members and visitors alike. They use the UCC “Seasons of the Spirit” curriculum.

The Open Door Bible Class for Younger Adults:  This new bible study group is particularly geared for those in our congregation in the 20-40 age group.  This group looks at particular books in the Bible and asks what the scriptures are saying today about our post-modern world.

YAK:  When this group was first formed, most of the members were in their twenties and the name Young Adult Class was chosen as representative. The class continues some twenty years later to explore current events in light of their Christian Faith. No matter what your age, the YAK would be glad to have you join them in their lively discussions.

Eosin:  The name of this group is taken from a Native American word for friendship. This class focuses on the teachings of the Bible and relating them to living a Christian life. The class discusses books and contemporary topics.

Adult Bible Study:  A traditional Bible Study group of mainly retired people. They follow the Present Word Bible Study curriculum. They encourage adults of every age who are interested in group Bible study to join them.
